Is there any better way to set up the way we print?-Brittany

Brittany, good question! Clyde, our ResNet Administrator, answered this one. He is always trying to think of ways to make our technology in the Residence Halls as sustainable as possible. To summarize his response: The receptionists would have to use their computer to print off each student's papers when they come to get them and as they are already very busy this just wouldn't be feasible. It's also not economically viable to hire someone specifically for that purpose. The cover sheets do allow for our receptionists to easily identify the end of one print job and the beginning of another. Finally, once the cover sheets have gone through the printing process and been heated, it loses some of its grip and is more likely to cause a paper jam. While it's far from perfect, cover sheets are the best solution for now. Some buildings use the cover sheets as scrap paper and others donate it to elementary schools, so we try to reuse when we can.

Can the new office hours be posted on the website?-John

John, the office hours can be found under the Student Resources link on the RHA website. When you get to that page, you can click on the RHA Office Hours page and you get the whole list of everybody's office hours. They are also posted on the office door in Hutchens on the way to Garst. Thank you for your feedback!

I will be a freshman in Fall 2010 and I was wondering if freshmen could be involved in RHA.-Ally

Ally, of course Freshman are able to participate in RHA. We have students from Freshman to graduate students who participate in RHA. As a member you can share your thoughts on our residence halls (what you like/want to change), help or attend programs that we offer to all students, and be informed. We just had our Dining Services Director at our RHA meeting on Monday to talk about what changes they are considering for next year and answer student questions. It's a great way to get plugged in on campus! We also take folks to regional and national Leadership conferences; this summer we're going to San Diego. Anyone is welcome to apply to go with us to the conferences too. The only side note is, to be on the Executive Board, you'll want to be involved all year and then we hold our elections in April.

I was wondering when sophomores can move into their residence halls for the fall 2010 semester-Jean

Jean, our residence halls will open for all our students to move in on Friday, August 20, 2010 at 8:00 am. Our move in process is very well organized. We will have signs leading to campus with directions of the best way to get to your residence hall. We will have officers directing traffic all over campus. And we have over 300 current students who are a part of our "Bear Crew" who help you to move in. You'll be able to unload pretty much right in front of your hall and then we'll just ask that you move your car, so other students can do the same. We'll also post an Youtube video at the beginning of the summer about what to expect and some helpful tips. I hope this information helps, if you would like more info about our opening week activities, just let me know and I can go into more detail.

I am returning for the spring semester. I want to switch rooms and possibly buildings. What do I do?-Mary

Mary,
We have not yet accepted room changes for the Spring 2010 semester. We will begin accepting and processing them the week of January 18. It will be necessary for you to go onto the Residence Life website at the time and submit a room change request for an available space.

Residence Halls should have vending machines for milk.-Megan

Megan, we believe that there are milk machines in Carrington and Glass. Burch is the name of our vending contractors and they pulled milk from the buildings because they weren't as profitable. Milk also has a shorter expiration date and it probably takes more attention to keep fresh product stocked as well.
With a move toward healthy living, the next time we change vending machines, this should probably be reconsidered. Thanks for the suggestion!
